Brief background of what the organization does and the reference in statute or rule establishing the organization: Pursuant to the UCA 53A-24-405 and its current Bylaws, the Advisory Council to the Division of Services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is a 9-15 member council comprised of representatives who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing consumers, parents of children with hearing loss, and service providers. The purpose of the council is for members to bring feedback from their group of representation, share information with their community, and advise on the division’s program development and service delivery.

Number vacancies: One vacancy, for a term ending June 2018

Meetings (specific dates or how often the group meets, where, and for how long): Meetings are held monthly to semi-monthly on the third Wednesday of the month, 5:00-6:30 pm at the Sanderson Community Center of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Taylorsville, Utah. Participation through videoconferencing equipment is available.
