April 4, 2014 Meeting
In its April 4, 2014, meeting, the Utah State Board of Education:
- Agreed to send out to school districts and charter schools a model child nutrition program charge policy that emphasizes communication with parents and avoiding embarrassing students whose lunch accounts are in arrears.
- Set up a nine-member committee to begin the search for a new State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
- Agreed not to count students who opt out of this spring’s SAGE tests in English language arts, math and science against the participation rates of schools for purposes of state testing accountability.
