The Utah State Board of Education Superintendent Search Committee and State Division of Purchasing has finalized a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a national recruiter. The which is now public and accessible here.
On May 9, the Board approved an announcement, available here, advertising an opening for the position of State Superintendent of Public Instruction. Additionally, the Board approved sending out a Request for Proposal (RFP) seeking an executive recruiting firm to provide a minimum of six qualified and interested candidates for the position. The RFP has now been made public by the State Division of Purchasing.
The purpose of this RFP is to enter into a contract with a qualified firm to conduct an executive search for the position of State Superintendent. It is anticipated that this RFP may result in an award to a single contractor. However, the State of Utah reserves the right to award to multiple contractors if it is determined to be in the best interest of the State.
The RFP will remain open until 2 p.m. June 6.
Current State Superintendent Martell Menlove announced in March that he would retire, but agreed to remain on the job while the Board sought a replacement. The Board hopes to make a hiring decision in August.
